The Lowry High School swim team was in Carson City on Saturday, March 12, for the Aqua 5 meet. In the Aqua 5, swimmers compete in the 100-yard freestyle, 100-yard butterfly, 50-yard freestyle, 100-yard breaststroke and 100-yard backstroke.
The swimmer with the best combined time in the five events is the winner.
On the boys side, Matthew Lizanetz was 29th overall with a time of 4 minutes, 56.24 seconds. Lizanetz had a time of 55.73 in the 100-yard freestyle, 1:06.69 in the 100-yard butterfly, 25.49 in the 50-yard freestyle, 1:22.85 in the 100-yard breaststroke and 1.11.11 in the 100-yard backstroke.
Garrett Jensen was 43rd with a time of 5:51.86. His times included 100-yard freestyle (1:04.73), butterfly (1:18.61), 50-yard freestyle (29.49), 100-yard freestyle (1:35.15) and 100-yard backstroke (1:23.70).
Caden Montero, Ashton Parry and Tanner Hatch did not have times in all five events.
Montero finished the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 1:11.78, 50-yard freestyle (29.91), 50-yard freestyle (29.91). 50-yard breaststroke (43.09), 50-yard backstroke (38.39).
Parry finished the 100-yard freestyle at 1:25.17, the 50-yard freestyle at 37.03, 50-yard breaststroke (52.73) and 50-yard backstroke (48.42).
Hatch had time of 100-yard freestyle (1:18.92), 50-yard freestyle (34.58), 50-yard breaststroke (53.54) and 50-yard backstroke (39.33).
On the girls side, Tea Bengoa was 35th with a combined time of 6:20.68. She had a time of 1:14.84 in the 100-yard freestyle, 1:24.17 in the 100-yard butterfly, 34.59 in the 50-yard freestyle, 1:39.95 in the 100-yard breaststroke and 1:27.13 in the 100-yard backstroke.
Evie Morgan had times in four of the five events, stopping the clock at 1:20.67 in the 100-yard freestyle. In addition, she had times of 39.98 in the 50-yard freestyle, 1:40.58 in the 100-yard breaststroke and 1:45.51 in the 100-yard backstroke.
Zoey Thies had four times as well finishing at 1:29.08 in the 100-yard freestyle. She had a time of 41,67 in the 50-yard freestyle, 2:04.34 in the 100-yard butterfly and 1:43.79 in the 100-yard backstroke.
Tajia Taylor had four times in five events, finishing the 100-yard freestyle at 1:30.20. She finished the 50-yard freestyle at 36.64, 50-yard breaststroke at 48.64 and 50-yard backstroke (48.48).
Lowry was off this past weekend and returns to the pool on Friday, March 25, in Truckee.
