A handful of McDermitt High School basketball players received Northern 1A East postseason awards, which is selected by the league’s coaches.
On the girls side, Vina Tom was named to the Northern 1A East first team and Cayla Crutcher was selected to the second team.
Tom, just a freshman, averaged 11.1 points a game to lead the McDermitt girls. She added 5.8 rebounds a game, 3.1 assists, 1.9 steals and 1.1 blocks.
Crutcher was the leading rebounder for the Lady Bulldogs with 10.6 a game to go with 8.8 points.
Braeden Ramsey was a first-team, all-league selection for the McDermitt boys.
Ramsey averaged 13.3 points, 4.2 rebounds and 2.0 assists a game for the Bulldogs, who advanced to the semifinals of the Northern 1A East Regional Tournament.
Enrique Villalobos was named to the second team and Tristan Bitt was a honorable mentionchoice. In addition, Bitt was named to the all-defensive team.
Villalobos paced the Bulldogs this season with 9.7 rebounds a game to go with 7.8 points. Bitt was the second leading scorer for McDermitt at 9.7 points a game. The senior also has two steals a game.
