Obituary: George Street Fletcher II

George Street Fletcher II passed away on December 20. 2021 at Humboldt General Hospital at the age of 60. 

He was born on September 27, 1961, to George Street Fletcher Sr. and Pacita Castro Fletcher in San Francisco, California. 

George was born and raised in San Francisco, California. 

He attended Balboa High School, where he was a member of the California Scholarship Federation, BUCS, and the Chess and Backgammon Club.

He received an associate degree at Skyline College and took some courses from Berean Bible College.

He worked as an Insurance Agent and Real Estate Agent. He also owned and ran a small shop at Pollardville in California.

On February 1, 1997, George married the love of his life and woman of his dreams, Julie Ann Weber.

The two then moved to Stockton, California, where they began their life together. The two moved to Winnemucca, Nevada in 2006 and called it home for the next 15 years. 

George was a faithful follower of Christ. He belonged to many organizations within his church, he was a leader of Royal Rangers, and the worship team. 

He was formerly ordained with the Assemblies of God during the 2000s and was ordained as a Bishop with Christlife Family Ministries in 2020.

The Lord was a big part of George’s life and always shared the gospel whenever he could. 

He was a big part of the Sonoma Funeral Home family, where he performed many services for those grieving their loved ones.

George had the innate ability to make families and friends feel at peace and hopeful.

George enjoyed playing the bagpipes, playing guitar, playing piano, woodworking, and bible study.

He loved old movies and TV shows, history and caring for his animals and family. George was a giver and cared for so many. 

He will be remembered by many of his family and friends that became family for years to come.

He is survived by his mother-in-law, Nancy Dusseau, Brothers-in-law, Steve Kirwin and Marte Hall, sisters-in-law, Kathleen Kirwin and Deborah Weber and nephews, Joshua Kirwin, Caleb Kirwin, Joseph Kirwin, Daniel Kirwin, and Logan Krahenbuhl. 

He is preceded in death by his loving and devoted wife, Julie Ann Fletcher, who passed away on December 1, 2019, and his parents, George Sr, and Pacita Fletcher. 

Burial for George will take place on January 19, 2021, at 11:30am at the Winnemucca Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest near his love, Julie. Burial will be livestreamed on Sonoma Funeral Home’s Facebook Page https://fb.me/e/267FVysaw .

A Memorial Service will be held in the Spring for his family and friends.
