On Friday, Feb. 4, 2022 at approximately 7:03 AM Pacific Time, Troopers with the Nevada State Police,
Highway Patrol Division, responded to a crash on US93 near mile marker 8 in Elko County. This location is approximately 66 miles south of Wells.
Preliminary investigation determined that a red 2000 Dodge Ram truck was traveling northbound on US93 in the northbound travel lane. For unknown reasons the Dodge Ram truck went off the road to the right. The truck traveled back across both travel lanes before going off the left side of the road and overturning.
Unfortunately, the driver and passenger were not restrained and were ejected as the vehicle overturned. The vehicle came to rest on the left dirt shoulder on its left side. The driver, (33-year-old Brandon Madieros of Gardnerville, NV) and passenger (33-year-old Molly Adams of Lake Elsinore, CA) succumbed to injuries at the scene and were pronounced deceased. US93 remained open in both directions during the investigation.
The crash is being investigated by the Nevada Highway Patrol Northern Command East Multi-Disciplinary Investigation and Reconstruction Team (M.I.R.T.).
