WINNEMUCCA — The Humboldt River Field Office partially reopened Water Canyon Recreation Area on Jan. 28. The ice on the lower section of road through the recreation area has melted and is now safe for vehicles to travel.
“There will be a barrier chain and a sign at sites 4 and 5 to keep people from going any further up the road as that is where the road conditions are the most hazardous,” said Humboldt Field Office Manager, Kathleen Rehberg.
Water Canyon Recreation Area is located 5.2 miles southeast of Winnemucca, Nevada.
