Junior golf season ends as Esquivel wins Jeff Wade Memorial tournament

The Winnemucca junior golf season concluded last Wednesday with the Jeff Wade Memorial Tournament, as Landon Esquivel won with a round of 6-over par 78. 

Thirty-two youngsters competed in the event.

Maddux Nichols was second in the boys division with a round of 84 and Katie Cassinelli led the way in the girls 15-to-17-year-old division, shooting 82.

Kea Cabatbat won the boys 11-to-12-year-old division, carding a 45. Txendoa Cabatbat (51) was second and Jayden Robertson (54) and Evan Thompson (56) and Grady Tolbert (56) rounded out the top five. 

Liam Kepler (60) and Aiden Guzman (75) closed out the scores.

Hadlee Corbitt claimed the top spot in the girls 11-to-12-year-old division at 53 and Savannah Ortiz (69) was second. 

In the boys 10 and under division, Armando Rodriguez led the way with a round of 43 and Owen Korinek (49) was second. Korinek also recorded a hole in one on No. 5. 

Dusty Vigil shot a 50 to place third and Eric Marcinek (51) and Sebastian Roman (53) finished the top five.

Jayson Milam carded a 55, Zane Stockton (56), Grant Weber (57), Ethan Myers and Jonathan Gildone each shot 64, Eligh Guzman (68) and Drake Guzman (75).

Landree Corbitt won the girls 10 and under division at 55 and Bryelle Weber (60) was second. Kiana Cipra was third at 70, Pippa Quilici (78) placed fourth and Amaya Myers and Emma Stickney (80) tied for fifth.  

Addie Enochson (82) and Amelia Plummer (88) completed the scores.
