Medical care is often different for children than it is for adults — a little more particular, a little more tender and a lot more arduous for families.

For more than three decades the Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) has partnered with businesses and organizations to help raise awareness and funds for local children’s hospitals across North America.

RE/MAX Great Basin Realty has been a successful partner of CMN for years and is hosting their annual fundraiser event on Aug. 13 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. for the community to attend and take advantage of the opportunity to make donations that go directly to local children who need medical care.

For this year’s event, Miracles in the Mucc, Great Basin Realty is also partnering with Winner’s Inn Hotel-Casino, in order to support a bigger and better event.

The event will be open to the public in the Winner’s Inn Hotel-Casino parking lot and feature local food truck vendors, live music, a silent auction, a raffle, games and plenty of other family friendly activities.

Every dollar raised will go directly to Renown Children’s Hospital in Reno, NV.

“The objective is to keep things growing,” explained Broker and Owner of Great Basin Realty, Michael Andrews and added that last year, Great Basin Realty was able to quickly raise $10,483.82 in donations from this event alone.

Throughout CMN’s history as a nonprofit, fostering support for children and families, millions have received quality care and provision and tens of thousands of children receive medical care every single day. RE/MAX is just one of the amazing partners that recognize the “Month of Miracles’’ events every August.

According to RE/MAX, their offices and agents have been able to raise $185 million since they first started partnering with CMN 30 years ago. Many may be familiar with the CMN Miracle Balloon icon badges at the grocery store or other regular places, which raise billions for kids, one dollar at a time. According to CMN, of the millions who visit children’s hospitals every year, Medicaid and other insurance groups do not cover the full cost of care.

The organization was designed to fill the gaps and help relieve the financial and some of the emotional burden that is associated with medical care and visits for children.

“To me, it’s a great organization because we’re helping give back to the children in our community,” Andrews explained.

Andrews, as well as many other RE/MAX teams and personnel, donates personally every year to CMN. He and his team at Great Basin Realty work hard to put together an event that will encourage as many donations as possible with the help of many local organizations and businesses that contribute with sponsorship and donations.

Gift baskets and different prizes and certificates to and from local businesses will be available through the auction and raffle and will all help local kids receive medical care.

Donations are also easily made online through the Children’s Miracle Network website.

“It is my desire to give back to a community that helps support my business and my own family,” said Andrews.
