Pershing County track and field team back from Northwest Invite in Reno

On Saturday, Apr. 16, the PCHS track team competed in the Northwest Invitational. McQueen High School in Reno hosted the event. 

Luis Sanchez and Efrain Gonzalez raced in the 100 and 200 meters. Brayden Wagner threw the shot put and discus, setting a personal record in discus (108-08). 

On the girl’s side, Kylee Fuller set a personal best in the 1,500 meters (5:47.25). She also leaped the 300-meter hurdles (59.05), a new event for the senior distance runner.

On Saturday, Apr. 30, the team travels to Douglas High School in Minden for the Big George Invitational. 

Hundreds of athletes want to make it to the first state competition in two years. It will be held in Sparks at Reed High School May 20 - 21.
