Lowry boys knock off North Valleys

The Lowry High School boys swim team notched a dual win over North Valleys this past Friday at Alf Sorenson Pool in Reno.

 The Buckaroos beat the Panthers 70-47,

Garret Jensen posted a victory in the 200 individual medley with a time of 3 minutes, 2.93 seconds and he placed second in the 100-yard freestyle at 1:06.59. 

Matthew Lizanetz won the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 6:20.35 and was second in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:23.03).

Caden Montero picked up a runner-up finish in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:45.66 and he was third in the 100-yard freestyle at 1:09.37. 

Tanner Hatch placed second in the 50-yars freestyle, stopping the clock at 29.78 and he was third in the 100-yard breaststroke at 1:34.24.

Hatch, Montero, Jensen and Lizanetz won the 200-medley relay with a time of 2:20.39 and the foursome won the 200-yard relay with a time of 1:34.24.

On the girls side, North Valleys beat Lowry 104-40.

Zoey Thies took home the top spot in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:42.76, while teammate Tajia Taylor was second (1:43.20). 

Taylor added a fifth-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle at 36.08.

Tea Bengoa was third in the 50-yard freestyle (33.86) and the 500-yard freestyle (7:25.54) and Evie Morgan placed third in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 3:02.51 and she was third in the 100-yard freestyle at 1:23.82.

Thies, Morgan, Bengoa and Taylor were second in the 200-medley relay with a time of 2:48.35 and they were second in the 2000-yard relay at 2:28.60.

Lowry travels to Carson on Friday to swim against Sparks.
