The Mustang Youth Team recently sponsored a poster contest at the elementary school. Aubrey Canchola, Devyn Canchola and Austin Gallagher each entered a poster and won a prize.
Devyn Canchola took home the first place trophy. The MYT awarded Gallagher a ribbon for second place. Both boys are in the third grade. Aubrey Canchola, a first-grader, won third place.
The theme was ‘A healthy me is drug free.’ The MYT often reaches out to the younger students. They recently gave school-wide presentations on alcohol, tobacco and medication safety.
“Our classroom poster contest was a fun and educational way for students to be creative and show why it’s important to be drug-free,” said MYT advisor, Tina Gallagher. “We hope to continue to help educate youth on the dangers of drug and alcohol abuse.”
