Preliminary investigation revealed that on Friday November 19, 2021, at approximately 10:14 A.M., a white 2019 Dodge Grand Caravan was traveling southbound on the US93 Alternate, south of Elko County mile marker 28. (Approximately 28 miles south of W. Wendover) At the same time a white Ford pickup towing a flatbed trailer was traveling northbound on US93A, north of the Dodge.

For reasons unknown, the Dodge failed to maintain its marked travel lane crossing over the centerline and entered the northbound travel lane, ahead of the Ford pickup.

The driver of the Ford steered the Ford into the northbound dirt shoulder in attempt to avoid, the left front of the Dodge sideswiped the left side of the Ford pickup and continued to then strike the left side of the trailer.

The driver of the Dodge was unrestrained and was ejected. The Dodge began to rotate clockwise across the center travel lane into the southbound travel lane and was redirected back into the northbound travel lane where it came to rest.

The Ford began to rotate counterclockwise and came to rest between the northbound and southbound travel lanes. The trailer attached to the Ford came detached from the impact and overturned into the right-side dirt shoulder.

The Ford was being driven by a male adult and had a male adult passenger. Both sustained minor injuries and were not transported. The driver of the Dodge succumbed to injuries sustained in the crash and was pronounced deceased on scene.

The driver of the Dodge was identified as 53-year-old Kenneth Lee from Las Vegas, Nevada.
