Humboldt County School District board in brief —

On June 25, 2019, the Humboldt County School District Board of Trustees approved the following agenda item:

• The POOL insurance renewal for the 2019-2020 school year. This year’s premium is $436,439.33 versus last year’s premium of $399,125.90, an increase of 9.35%.   The increase was due to a number of factors, including adverse and catastrophic losses due to natural disasters in other areas of the country.

• The amended and/or augmented budget for the 2018-2019 school year. The approval allows the District to adjust student enrollment, funding and expenditures.

The Trustees held a closed-door session for the following agenda item:

• To discuss fiscal negotiations and impact of early incentive PERS purchase with the Humboldt County Education Association (HCEA) and the Humboldt County Support Staff Organization (HCSSP). The session is to ensure the Trustees are informed of the progress of the negotiations.

The following agenda item was postponed:

• The year-end review of Truancy Court efforts and outcomes with Judge Michael Montero.

As a reminder, the July 9th board meeting has been canceled. The board will hold its next meeting on July 23.
