RTC meeting in brief —

On June 17, 2019, the Regional Transportation Commissioners received the following updates regarding current and future road projects:

Shaun Deforest and Dave Schwartz with the Nevada Department of Transportation told commissioners that the department closed Nevada SR 795, also known as Reinhardt Lane, June 14 due to flooding.  Deforest said concrete jersey barriers were erected to prevent all but local traffic from accessing the road. It was unknown how long the road would be closed. NDOT hydraulic experts will continue to monitor water levels and soil conditions.

Schwartz told the commission that the department had received a bid to chip seal with seal coat portions of US 95 and SR 293 (Kings River Road). He said the lowest bid came from Sierra Nevada Construction. NDOT documents indicate the bid amount was for $4,091,007. The project expected to begin late summer of 2019.
