Cowboys and cowgirls compete in Winnemucca

The Ranch Rodeo and Roping event held at the Winnemucca Events Complex on June 14-16 was a Western States Ranch Rodeo Association (WSRRA) sanctioned event that was host to almost 100 competitors. Branding, team roping, sort and doctor, a women’s race and a men’s race were the events that were contested last weekend.

Fifteen year old Tayler Felton was one of the competitors at the rodeo. She is the reigning high school state champion in breakaway and team roping. “I cannot remember a time when I was not doing rodeo,” Felton said. “I like to rope, so my favorite events are team roping and breakaway.”

Results of the event were not available at press time but will be posted at wsrra.org and events.fullheartsco.com.
