GLENDALE, Ariz. —David Eastman, D.P.M., of Winnemucca, Nevada, has completed the Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (D.P.M.) degree at the Arizona School of Podiatric Medicine (AZPod) of Midwestern University.

An official graduation ceremony and conferring of degrees took place on the Midwestern University campus in Glendale, Ariz., on May 31.

Dr. Eastman is the son of Winnemucca residents Jerod and Deanna Eastman. He graduated from Lowry High School in 2010, and earned a B.S. in Biology from Upper Iowa University in 2014 and an M.S. in Biomedical Sciences from Iowa State University in 2015.

While at Midwestern, he served as class liaison to the osteopathic program, president of AAPSM, Treasurer of ACFAS, and AZPMSA liaison to residency programs.

After graduation, Dr. Eastman plans to complete a podiatric residency program at United Health Services in Johnson City, New York.

AZPod’s inaugural class graduated in June 2008. The four-year program trains Doctors of Podiatric Medicine (D.P.M.s) ¾ physicians and surgeons who practice on the lower extremities, primarily on feet and ankles.

It is the first podiatric medicine program in Arizona, where active lifestyles and the aging population contribute to the need for more podiatric physicians.
