In the rodeo world, it’s a milestone you never forget. Rori Fenner, 7, won her first trophy saddle at the Sierra Nevada Junior Rodeo on Friday and Saturday, June 28 – 29.The competition took place at the Reno Rodeo’s 100th anniversary at the Livestock Events Center.
It was a three-horse weekend for Rori. She rode Shooter, Bomber and Cookie in multiple events.
Over the weekend, Rori ran the fastest barrel time of any age group (6-18 years old). She clocked in at a speed 17.214 seconds. Against her peer group (6-9), Rori placed first in pole bending, figure eight and goat tying. She grabbed the runner-up spot in steer daubing.
“Rori missed her dally in team roping, but caught a foot,” said her mother, Ann-Marie Fenner. “She’s excited about her accomplishments and ready to continue the rodeo season.”
