On Wednesday, July 3rd the Winnemucca 10-12 Little League all-star squad met Elko in a win or go home game in the District Three Tournament that was held in Winnemucca this year. The boys took a tough loss to end their season going down 18-4.
Winnemucca won their first game of the tournament 3-2 against High Desert (Fernley) before falling to Silverada (Dayton) 13-4. White Pine (Ely) proved to be no match for Winnemucca in this double-elimination affair, going down 19-4 and ending their season.
Ruby Mountain (Spring Creek) won all four of their games in the tournament and they took out Silverada in the championship game to move on to Boulder City for the state tournament.
