Winnemucca Gold Rush hosted four fields of softball action last Saturday, June 29 – Sunday, June 30 at the Sports Complex, and 19 teams of all ages came out to compete from all over the state. The 8U and 14 U squads both reigned supreme over their competition on a beautiful Winnemucca weekend.
Benny Martinez is the manager of the 8U Gold Rush team and said after the championship win, “It was a pretty good tournament. I don’t think our girls have given up a run in our last 12 games. This is a great group of girls. Nine of them are moving up next year and it is going to be tough to replace them.”
