Carrie Elva (Davis) Johnson, 65, of Winnemucca, Nevada passed away at her home on August 17, 2019. She was born to Elmer and Elva Davis in Winnemucca, NV on February 13, 1954.
Carrie grew up in Winnemucca and graduated from Lowry High School with the class of 1971.
She married the love of her life, Donald Dean Johnson Sr., in 1972 after he returned home from his military service.
Carrie worked for many years at E&E Ceramics with her mother, Elva. She then started Carrie’s Birdhouse, which she ran from home for 30 years providing a variety of birds to the public.
Carrie served as a 4-H leader for small animals, particularly birds, for many years in many areas. Carrie was one who would step up as an adult leader for any group that she felt capable of helping to teach our youth.
She enjoyed oil painting, ceramics, hunting, fishing, metal detecting and side by side rides.
Her absolute favorite thing was raising her birds. She had chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys, guinea, pheasants, chukar and quail.
Carrie is survived by her husband; Donald Dean Johnson Sr., their daughter; Sherry Johnson (Tom) Ehrhart, grandchild; Jessica (Marcus) Akana-Pearson, great grandchild; Damian Akana-Pearson and her mother-in-law; Marie Johnson. Brothers; Matt (Kay) Davis, Mark Davis, Brother-in-law; Howard (Jocelyn) Johnson and sister-in-law; Jean Olsen.
As well as nieces and nephews; Jake, Huk and Lisa Johnson and Joanie (Judd) Higgins, Brock, Cody and Dallin.
She is preceded in death by her son; Donny D. Johnson Jr., parents; Elmer and Elva Davis, and her father-in-law; Cecil Johnson.
