Great entertainment a given at Tri-County Fair

WINNEMUCCA —When it comes to the Tri-County Fair & Stampede, great entertainment is a given.

From Friday, August 30, through Sunday, September 1, the Winnemucca Events Complex will be packed with fun things to do. The bad news is you may not be able to fit it all in. The good news? It’s all free.

The “Brad’s World Reptiles” exhibit will return to this year’s Tri-County Fair, and one thing’s for sure: local fair-goers will remember Brad Tylman and his reptiles, amphibians and other exotic species for many years to come.

Brad’s World Reptiles was established in 1982 by Tylman. Since then the reptile expert has traveled the globe accumulating vast knowledge about the natural world—information he’ll share during three days of exhibits inside the Winnemucca Event Center. Stop by the Winnemucca Event Center from noon to 9 p.m. Friday; from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday; and from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday. There is no charge to attend and all ages are welcome.

Magician Brian Ledbetter will return to the Tri-County Fair with “Dazzling Deceptions.” This young, modern, hip performer will present visually spectacular illusions, fun audience participation and side-splitting comedy — all in an exciting fast-paced show. Ledbetter's extensive background in theatre has benefitted his magic, honing it to a seldom reached level of perfection.

“Dazzling Deceptions” will be presented eight times on the Main Stage Outside at the Winnemucca Event Center at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. Friday; noon and 4 p.m. Saturday; and 10 a.m., 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Sunday. Each show will last 45 minutes and is free to the public.

Also on the bill for this Labor Day weekend is the return of “Jeff Rose: Amazing Concert Hypnotist.” Rose will combine his hypnotic talents and his quick wit to create one terrific and very funny show. The show will play one time at 8 p.m. Friday on the Main Stage Outside at the Winnemucca Event Center. There is no charge for admission and all ages are welcome.

“The Rowdy Refs Family Fun Show” also is scheduled to return to this year’s Tri-County Fair. The show will draw 20 unsuspecting youngsters and adults into the fun during each show’s segment, which will feature all the crazy stunts folks see on TV, but this time it will be family and friends who get to experience the fun first-hand.

The Rowdy Refs will present five shows on the Main Stage Outside at the Winnemucca Event Center at 4 p.m. Friday; 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. Saturday; and 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. Sunday. Each show will last about 45 minutes and is free to the public.
