WINNEMUCCA — Ladies, Labor Day weekend’s for you at the 2019 Tri-County Fair & Stampede.
This year, racers and spectators alike are looking forward to the return of the “Winnemucca 4D Barrel Race,” which will be held in the brand new and beautiful Winnemucca Events Complex Pavilion.
Competition begins Friday, Aug. 30, with time onlys from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. On Saturday, Aug. 31, time onlys will run from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., followed at 11 a.m. with Pee Wee, Open 4-D followed by 18/40. Sunday, September 1, time onlys will run from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Racing will begin at 10 a.m. with Pee Wee, Open 4-D followed by 18/40.
The event is sanctioned with SIBRA and produced by 777 Barrel Racing LLC. Racers can expect more than $5,000 in added money, with $250 added Saturday and Sunday in the 18-40.
Entry forms are available online at www.LaborDayFair.com. Pre-entries must be postmarked by Saturday, August 24. Entries the day of the race are cash only.
Michelle Hammond, Winnemucca Convention and Visitors Authority Marketing and Sales Coordinator, said the Tri-County Fair & Stampede is a celebration of this area’s rural roots.
“Barrel racing is such a huge part of our historical past as well our combined future; we thought
this event was a great fit for the Tri-County Fair & Stampede,” she said.
