Six year-old Kea Cabatbat has been golfing for three years and was at the tournament on Wednesday.

“I like to hit the ball every time when I chip out of the sand pit; Sometimes I do good, sometimes I do bad,” Cabatbat said. “I don’t care if I lose or win. It’s all good. I like teeing off because you get to hit it as far as you can and you kind of have to aim.”

Layce Fentress (86) took the girls 10 and under division over Karlie Dillon (90).

Maddux Nichols (46) took down Byron Jimenez (51) in the boys 10 and under division.

Isaiah Cavez shot 52 to place third and Caden Bice (66) and Txendoa Cabatbat (72) were fourth and fifth, respectively.

Andrew Mendoza shot 73 and Kea Cabatbat and Jayce Alioa each shot 80.

Lyndsee Jimenez was at the tournament watching her sons Byron and Jaden.

"I like coming out to the course because of the peacefulness of it and getting to watch them improve their game," Jimenez said.  "It is an individualized sport so they are competing against themselves for a better score than the last time.”
