PCHS football back on the field

The 2019 Pershing County Mustangs football team has a 2A state trophy to defend, its third in as many years. 

The boys begin practice on Thursday Aug 15.

School starts 10 days later.

On Saturday, Aug. 24, at 5:45 a.m. the varsity and JV teams pull out of Lovelock. 

They’ll scrimmage against Battle Mountain in Longhorn territory. 

Next, on Friday, Aug. 30, varsity heads to West Wendover for their opening game of the season. 

On Friday, Sept. 6, Pershing County is California bound.

They’ll duke it out against the Bear River Bruins. 

The Grass Valley boys finished with a 4-6 overall record in 2018 and tied for fifth in Region 12 with a 1-4 record. They did not qualify for the playoffs.

The first home game of the season is on Friday, Sept. 20, against Ely’s White Pine.

The  JV starts at 4:30 p.m. and the varsity follows at 7 p.m.

PCHS is back on the road on Sept. 27 to play Incline.
