Thitry-one junior golfers took to the links at the Winnemucca Municipal Course on Wednesday for the 3rd annual Flex Fitness Tournament.
As well as playing a lot of golf, they had a lot of fun on the side.
Kobe Stoker won the 15-17 year-old boys title for the second week in a row, with an 80 over Caden Rorex (89).
Bailey Hayes (112) was the girls 15-17 year-old winner.
As a break in the golf action, volunteers from Flex Fitness set up a side event for all to take a toss at cornhole.
“The cornhole game is something fun for the kids to do to break up the monotony of the golf,” said Flex Fitness volunteer Heather Davis in her first year at the event. “If they are having a bad day golfing they can have some fun playing cornhole.”
Piper Nichols (66) won the girls 13-14 division and Landon Esquivel (52) took the boys 13-14 year-old division..
Katie Cassinelli (51) was the 11-12 girls champion and Txema Bengochea (46) was the boys 11-12 year-old winner.
Twelve year-old Caleb Hales has been golfing for a couple of years and was on the course on Wednesday.
“My sister (Kaitlyn) is on the golf team, so my parents were like, “you are going to the golf tournament tomorrow,” Hales said. "She has a friend who is on the boys golf team who was like, “you gotta come.” I am having fun, I am glad I came out.”
Karlie Dillon shot 90 to take the 10-Under girls title, and Byron Jimenez (48) edged out Maddux Nichols (49) to claim the boys 10 and under division.
