Maria Guadalupe Munoz of Winnemucca passed away peacefully on July 27, 2019 at Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno, NV. She was born on December 12, 1951 in Mexico City, Mexico, to Jose and Guadalupe Iturbe.
Lupe was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and mother-in-law.
She is survived by her husband Raul Munoz Sr. of 49 years, along with their three daughters and one son; Veronica Hernandez (Roberto Hernandez Sr.), Erika Garcia (Ruben Garcia), Raul Munoz Jr. (Elvia Munoz), and Stephanie Richey (Andrew Richey). Lupe has nine grandchildren (Natali, Carina and Roberto Jr. Hernandez, Kayla and R.J. Garcia, Maddy, Kenzie and Kenna Munoz, and Avery Richey) and three great-grandchildren (Sergio, Sebastian, and Santiago Justo).
Lupe was such a kindhearted, humble, and welcoming person. She always made sure her family came first.
She loved cooking, dancing, hosting her family over at her home, watching Walt Disney movies over and over again with her grandkids and most importantly drinking her Diet Coke. She enjoyed going on outgoings to The Griddle and roaming through thrift stores.
Lupe is preceded in death by her parents, Jose and Guadalupe Iturbe, her brother, Jose (Pepe) Iturbe Jr., her nephew, Jose Iturbe Chavez, her grandmother, Epifania Salinas and her In-laws, Socorro Gutierrez and Miguel Munoz.
You are truly one in a million, we thank God for giving us such a gift. You may have left this world, but you’ll never leave our hearts. This isn’t a goodbye, it’s until we meet again.
Services will be held on Tuesday, August 6, 2019 at Saint Paul’s Catholic Church with Rosary starting at 10:00 a.m., Mass to follow at 11:00 a.m. with burial at the Winnemucca Cemetery.
Our family would like to extend our gratitude and thanks to our family, friends, D3 Church, Father Pepe and Saint Paul’s Catholic Church, Chad Backus and Rehab Services of Nevada Staff, Genesis Home Health, Echo Mathews, Dr. Thomas of Reno, and the ICU Staff at Renown.
