The Battle Mountain Chamber of Commerce hosted their annual Installation Dinner on April 26 at the BM Civic Center.

The event started off with drinks and socializing while Chamber member Backlash (Becky Johnson and Marbella Dias Torre) provided soft music and singing throughout the evening.

A silent auction was set up allowing anyone the opportunity to bid on the many delicious desserts donated by BM Chamber Board members. The cheesecake topped with chocolate and strawberries (donated by Daniel Goodwin with Apex Drone Imaging) and the Basque Sheepherder’s bread and garlic dip (made and donated by Jodi Moore with Farmers Insurance) received the highest bids of $100 each.

2018 Chamber Board members were announced as follows: President Alicia Price -Haney’s Furniture, Vice President Jodi Moore - Farmers Insurance, Treasurer Sue Vandemark - Wells Fargo Bank, Board Member Bianca Lomeli – Hideway, Board Member Amanda Harris – Elife Solutions, Board Member Daniel Goodwin – Apex Drone Imaging, Board Member James Holland – Point S.

The event was catered by the Hideaway.

This year’s presentation was centered around the Chamber and its members.

The community was called upon to send in letters detailing how a local business provided them with a great customer service experience.

Chamber President Alicia Price presented the businesses in attendance with a certificate honoring them for Excellence in Customer Service and read to the crowd of 100 the reason they were nominated for a certificate.

The list of all Chamber events for 2018 was at each table and sign up sheets for sponsors and participants were available for the upcoming Business with Brushes and Candidates night. Surveys were set at each table allowing the businesses an opportunity to evaluate the Chamber and give feedback.

The Chamber honored its newest member Backlash with a ribbon cutting after the dinner. The event ended with Tony Moore, owner of Safety N Moore, auctioning off the gold splatter donated by Newmont Mining.

Additional sponsors of the event included Barrick, SSR and Newmont. They continue to be great supporters of the Battle Mountain Chamber of Commerce and their membership is greatly appreciated.
