Angela Darlene Smith pleaded guilty to misdemeanor charges of failure to yield to an emergency vehicle and failure to change name or address on driver’s license. She was fined $50 + $65 AA on each count, but the counts run concurrent.



Anthony Matthew Jimenez pleaded guilty to resisting a public officer. He was fined $1,000 + $140 AA. The judge gave the defendant credit for time served on the case.



Jan. 11

Heather L. Adams pleaded guilty to an amended criminal complaint charging felony grand larceny. The justice of the peace sentenced her to 60 days in jail with credit for 20 days time already served. The remaining 40 days are suspended for a period of two years providing the defendant pays restitution of $1,709. Defendant is also trespassed from all Walmarts.

The Humboldt County DA’s Office made a motion to dismiss charges against Brandon Omar Garcia of possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, no headlights, failure to wear a safety belt and minor in consumption of alcohol, pursuant to plea negotiations in district court on other charges. The justice of the peace granted the dismissal.



The Humboldt County DA’s Office made a motion to dismiss a misdemeanor charge against Milo Casper Derijk of breach of peace, pursuant to negotiations on another case. The justice of the peace granted the dismissal.



The Humboldt County DA’s Office made a motion to dismiss felony charges against Austin Cain Maupin of possession of a stolen motor vehicle and ex felon in possession of a firearm. The justice of the peace granted the dismissal. Maupin pleaded guilty to speeding 21-plus miles an hour over the limit. He was fined $210 + $105 AA. Fines and fees were converted to three days jail time already served.



The Humboldt County DA’s Office made a motion to dismiss felony charges against Cameron Warren Palmer of possession of a controlled substance for sale, as part of a plea agreement in another case in which Palmer has now been sentenced. The justice of the peace granted the dismissal.



Jan. 12

Ryan Ashlock pleaded guilty to two of three counts with which he was originally charged. The guilty plea covered misdemeanor charges of speeding 1-1- miles per hour over the limit and no proof of insurance. An additional charge of driving while his license was suspended or revoked was dismissed as part of the plea agreement. He was fined $50 + $65 AA for speeding and fined $600 + $140 AA for no proof of insurance. Fines and fees were converted to 8 days in jail and credit was given for 8 days already served.
