Winnemucca Grammar School is implementing the Rachel’s Challenge program this year. At the beginning of the year, we had a whole school assembly and every student signed the Rachel’s Challenge Banner. Signing this poster means students agree to accept the challenge to be friendly and kind to every student. Students are invited to join any of our first through fourth grade friendship groups if they want to make new friends or if a student is struggling with friends. We also have a fourth grade group of students known as Ambassadors and they help encourage students to be friendly and kind on the playground. Every January we set an Act of Kindness school goal. This year our goal is 3,200 Acts of Kindness. We are using Rachel’s Challenge Chain Reaction to count our Acts of Kindness. When students are being helpful or kind, they will write their act of kindness on a chain link and we will make a friendship chain.
