DUI crash causes rollover on Bridge Street

Very early last Saturday morning, Winnemucca Police responded to a report of a vehicle crash near South Bridge Street and Sixth Street. When they arrived, responders found a truck on its roof.

Their preliminary investigation found that, for unknown reasons, a black Dodge Ram pickup traveling southbound on Bridge St. veered to the right side of the roadway and crashed into a green Ford Ranger pickup.

This collision caused the black Dodge Ram to careen off, striking a gray Honda Civic. This impact, in turn, caused the black Dodge Ram pickup to overturn onto its roof.

The impact of the Black Dodge Ram pickup into the Honda Civic caused the Honda Civic to strike a third vehicle, a red Dodge Ram pickup. This impact caused the red Dodge Ram to strike a fourth vehicle, a black Pontiac sedan. The black Dodge Ram pickup came to rest on its roof in the middle of the 600 block of South Bridge St.  The gray Honda Civic came to rest on the sidewalk in front of 610 South Bridge St.

The black Dodge Ram pickup was driven by 42-year-old Joshua Yost. There was one adult male passenger in the truck.

The other three vehicles involved were not occupied at the time of the collision.

Yost and his passenger were treated at the scene for minor injuries by personnel from Humboldt General Hospital Ambulance Service.

The investigation revealed that Yost had been drinking alcohol and he was ultimately taken into custody on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and reckless driving.  The investigation is ongoing.

An arrest report showed that Yost was arrested and charged with DUI and reckless driving.
