The Dayton Dust Devils visited the Battle Mountain High School soccer teams on Friday at Tim Knight Field. The Lady Longhorns prevented the Dust Devils from scoring, while grabbing a 2-0 win.
The Battle Mountain boys struggled against Dayton, failing to score while giving up two goals to their opponents.
The Lady Longhorns would keep the Dayton girls scoreless in their match, due to some great goalkeeping play by goalie Shradyn Slaybaugh.
Slaybaugh stopped several shots toward goal and with the help of her teammates, cleared the ball back downfield closer to the Dayton goal.
Sruti Bhakta had both goals for Battle Mountain, with Daniela Rios and Abigail Okrzesik had the assists.
Battle Mountain hosted Fernley last Wednesday, with the girls playing to a 0-0 tie and the boys losing 4-0.
The Battle Mountain boys are off this weekend, while the Lady Longhorns travel to Lovelock on Saturday to face Pershing County.
