After earning a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Nevada, Reno he returned to make his home in Winnemucca. He was a partner in the family insurance agency for the next 30 years. Lyle was an excellent insurance agent, but is perhaps best remembered as a great outdoorsman. He started Davis Whitewater Expeditions in ’79 and outfitted and guided hundreds of trips over the next 20 years. He felt multi-day rafting combined the best of his favorite outdoor pursuits, pristine wilderness, camping, wildlife, fishing, hunting, good food, great friendships, and world class rapids! Everyone fortunate enough to go on those trips knows how special they were.
Lyle was an accomplished long range canoeist. He had a great fondness for the Baja Peninsula
A celebration of his life will be held at his brother Alan’s home on October 21st @ 1pm
