Nevada Rural Housing Authority (NRHA) has been helping make the dream of owning a home possible with programs for first-time home buyers, including down payment assistance. Now NRHA's “Home At Last” program is partnering with a number of shelters in northern Nevada, including the Humboldt County and City of Winnemucca Animal Shelter, to make it easier for new homeowners to open their home to a pet.
“We believe everyone deserves to find a home, even our furry friends,” said Diane Arvizo, NRHA director of Homebuyer Services. “You pick your new friend and we'll pick up the adoption fee. NRHA is happy to sponsor the adoption so you can focus on what's more important: turning your new house into a home.”
Homebuyers interested in the Down Payment Assistance program through NRHA can learn more at nvrural.org/find-a-lender-realtor. The Home At Last lender search tool can connect potential home buyers with a certified lender, Home At Last can also be reached via email at HAL@NVRural.org. More information about the Home At Last Pals program is available at HALPals.org.
