A misdemeanor charge of hit and run against Derrick Alefteras was dismissed on a motion by the Humboldt County DA’s office, which confirmed there was no outstanding restitution in the case.

Sharon Lorraine Blackburn pleaded no contest to an amended misdemeanor of discharging a firearm from or within a structure or vehicle. She had originally been charged with gross misdemeanor discharging a weapon where a person might be endangered. She was fined $1,000 + $140 AA and given credit of $500 for five days already served in jail. The judge suspended the balance of $640 for one year on condition the defendant has no further violations of the law and attends two Alcoholics Anonymous meetings per week for a period of three months.
