Lowry girls basketball team prepares for first games next week in Reno

The Lowry High School girls basketball team has started its season with a number of new faces. Nine new players fill out the roster for the Lady Bucks, who  reached the 3A state championship game last year in Las Vegas. Lowry returns just four players from the 2016-17 squad that finished second in the Northern 3A. Lowry opens its season on Wednesday. Nov. 29 in Reno at North Valleys High School. The freshmen tip off at 4:30 p.m. and the junior varsity and varsity follows. The Lady Bucks' varsity squad stays in Reno for the High  Sierra Invitational from Nov. 30-Dec. 2. Lowry plays Galena on Nov. 30 at 7:30 p.m., Rodriguez (Fairfield, Calif.), on Dec. 1 at 4:30 p.m. ands Spanish Springs on Saturday, Dec. 2. The junior varsity team will be in Lovelock on Dec. 1-2 for the Pershing County Tournament. Lowry makes its home debut on Tuesday, Dec. 5 against Dayton.
