Thanksgiving traditions call for feasting, with a table full of harvest bounty. Two local churches and the Frontier Community Action Agency are working together to help families that can’t afford to indulge in that tradition to have a nice Thanksgiving meal and leftovers for several other meals.

D-3 Church started out with a goal to help provide the makings for a delicious Thanksgiving holiday meal to 100 families in need. D-3 has been working in partnership with local schools and businesses to help those families enjoy a day of togetherness and tradition.

Frontier Community Action Agency is also assisting families. In addition to the monthly distribution of commodity foods this past Thursday, Nov. 16, FCAA will be distributing Thanksgiving hams donated by Catholic Charities.

Details about Project Thanksgiving, as well as ideas of how community members and groups can help are available on the D-3 Church Facebook page and the link www.weared3.com/thanksgiving.
