Obituary: Harry Donald Quilici

Harry Donald Quilici passed away on November 5th, 2017 after a lengthy battle with cancer.  Born in Lovelock NV  on January 18th , 1939, to Angelo and Julia Quilici, Harry was the youngest of 11 children.  

Harry graduated from Pershing County High school and joined the Army where he served in the motor pool while deployed to Korea from 1958-1960. Harry was honorably discharged at a rank of Specialist 4.    Upon returning to the states, Harry began a career in construction.  After working for several years in Southern Nevada, Harry made his home in Winnemucca NV.  Harry worked for many years building the Valmy Power Plant located between Winnemucca and Battle Mt.  Much of the cement work was done by Harry and his crew.  After 38 years Harry retired. He was awarded a certificate of Honor and Distinction from the Laborers’ Union Local 169.

Harry was preceded in death by his mother and father, his brother  John Quilici, sister Tina Krocak, sister Bruna Pope, brother Frank Quilici, sister Nana Fontana and brother Elmo Quilici.   

Harry is survived by his brother Julio (Mary) Quilici, sister Angelina Shaden and sister Norma Hill all of Lovelock, and a brother Gino (Karen)Quilici of Elko Nv, as well as many nieces and nephews. 

At Harry’s request, no funeral will be held. In memory of Harry donations can be made in his name to the Lovelock Animal Shelter at PO Box 383 Lovelock, NV 89419 or the Winnemucca Animal Shelter at 3268 Bengochia Circle, Winnemucca NV 89445.  Harry loved animals and rescued his best friend “Rocky” (a boxer)  from the Winnemucca Animal Shelter.
