Fatal accident Christmas Day on I-80

On Christmas Day, Nevada Highway Patrol investigated one-vehicle accident which resulted in a fatality. At approximately 5:25 p.m. Dec 25, a white Jeep utility vehicle was traveling eastbound on Interstate-80 near mile marker 229. For unknown reasons, the driver allowed the vehicle to travel into the dirt median. The driver then steered the Jeep to the right to regain the roadway but caused the vehicle to spin and then overturn on the interstate. During the rollover, the driver, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected. He died from his injuries at the scene. 

The name of the driver has not yet been released, pending notification of his next of kin. No other occupants were in the vehicle.
