Lowry, McDermitt back in action after Christmas break

The Lowry High School girls basketball team took to the floor last week in Idaho before Christmas and will now get to enjoy some time off.

However, the remaining teams at Lowry and McDermitt will be busy this week.

The McDermitt High School boys basketball team is in Sparks starting today (Wednesday) for the Rail City Classic.

The Bulldogs will play four games in four days against White Pine, Coral Academy of Reno, Lassen, Calif., and another team to be announced.

The McDermitt girls will be in Concord, Calif. for the West  Coast Jamboree. The tournament runs Thursday-Saturday.

McDermitt opens with Kennedy (Richmond, Calif.) on Thursday at 7 p.m. If McDermitt wins it will play the winner of Westmoor and  Granada at 7 p.m. on Friday. If the Lady Bulldogs lose, they will play at 1 p.m. against the loser of Westmoor and Granada.

The top part of the Onyx Bracket includes Deer Valley and Chowchilla and International and Inderkum.

 The Lowry boys basketball team is in Las Vegas for the Tri-State Invitational at Desert Oasis High School.

The Buckaroos play Hurricane, Utah today (Wednesday) at noon and Sunrise Mountain at 6 p.m. on Wednesday night.

Lowry takes on Shadow Ridge on Thursday at 9:30 a.m.

 The Buckaroos will play one more game on Thursday against a team to be determined. Lowry closes out the tournament on Friday.

The Lowry wrestling team is in Reno on Thursday and Friday for the Sierra Nevada Classic at the Reno Livestock Events Center.

The tournament features nearly 100 teams from a round the west.
