The middle and high school leadership classes played Santa again this season. They gave Christmas presents to Lovelock residents at every stage of the life cycle.

Pat Rowe launched the Angel Tree program several years ago. The leadership clubs got in on the ground floor. Each year they make sure no local child goes without fun and practical gifts.

First, the clubs raise money through bake sales, penny drives and other fundraisers. Next, they join forces in a shopping marathon.

The entire community pitches in with donations.

The leadership classes also remember Lovelock’s seniors. They stop at the PGH Nursing Home, BeeHive Homes and private residences. This year they dropped off over seventy bags of individually wrapped Christmas presents.

Buzz Brooks advises the high school leadership class. Cassidie Fuller leads the middle school students.

Besides year-round community service projects, leadership students plan all the school dances, assemblies and Spirit Week events. They meet after school and on their own time to accomplish their goals.
