Fugitive arrested in Grass Valley

Candice Anderson, who was named a fugitive from justice on Friday afternoon, has been arrested by the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office tonight in Grass Valley, reports Deputy Kevin Malone.  Malone said that investigation led detectives to find her off of East Thomas Canyon Road in Grass Valley.

Anderson plead guilty in 2015 to felony child abuse charges related to an incident in April of that year in which she claimed a neighbor’s dog attacked her infant. Upon investigation it was found the infant’s injuries were not consistent with an animal attack and Anderson was arrested. Anderson was 21 at the time.

Anderson had posted bail and was released pending the court process.

More details will be published as they become available.
