Candice Anderson has been deemed a wanted fugitive by the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office for failing to appear for her sentencing. The Sheriff’s Office is being assisted by the U.S. Marshall's Office in the hunt for the young woman.

The Sheriff’s office reports that Anderson is 5’9”, weighs approximately 190 pounds and is currently around seven months pregnant. Officials report she may be in Winnemucca, Reno, or Sacramento areas. If she is spotted in Humboldt County, please contact the HCSO (775) 623-6429; if spotted in other areas, please call the sheriff's dispatch of that county.

Anderson plead guilty in 2015 to felony child abuse charges related to an incident in April of that year in which she claimed a neighbor’s dog attacked her infant. Upon investigation it was found the infant’s injuries were not consistent with an animal attack and Anderson was arrested. Anderson was 21 at the time.

Anderson had posted bail and was released pending the court process.
