Oct. 1

Family Fun Night Fundraiser

5 p.m. — Sonoma Heights Elementary is hosting a family fun night. There will be carnival type games, bingo, cake walk, cotton candy, popcorn, hot dogs, hamburgers and a raffle where you can win a $200, $100 or $50 Gift Card. Tickets for games are 50 cents each and raffle tickets are $1 each or six for $5. All funds raised go back into the school to support the classrooms.



Winnemucca Ladies Golf Club

Each Tuesday — The club meets every Tuesday and is open to women of all golf levels. March, April & October at 10 a.m.; May — September at 9 a.m.



Preschool Story Time

Each Tuesday, 10 a.m. — The Humboldt County Library hosts Story Time for preschoolers in the Children’s Library. The group also does a craft. For more information call 623-6388.

Soup For the Soul

Each Tuesday, noon — The Winnemucca Ministerial Association sponsors a hot meal at the soup kitchen in the basement of the United Methodist Church on Winnemucca Boulevard. The meal is served beginning at noon each Tuesday. All needy persons are welcome.



Al-Anon Family Groups

AWANA Cubbies Preschool Club

Each Tuesday, 4 p.m. — Winnemucca Christian Fellowship invites the little ones to the AWANA Cubbies Preschool Club. For more information call the church office  at 623-5431.

RPEN

First Tuesday, 1 p.m. — The Retired Public Employees of Nevada meet each month, except June, July and August in Winnemucca at the Senior Citizens Center, 1480 Lay St., and also meet annually in Lovelock and Battle Mountain. Toastmasters

Survivor’s Support Group

First and third Tuesday, 6 – 8 p.m. — Winnemucca Domestic Violence Services holds a Survivor’s Support Group at their office, 50 Melarkey St. Call 625-1313 for more information.



American Legion Post 5

First Tuesday, 7 p.m. — The American Legion meets at the Veteran’s Hall on Bengochea Circle. The dues are $30 a year.



Winnemucca Balloons

First Tuesday, 7 p.m. — Winnemucca Balloons meeting on the first Tuesday of every month at Las Margaritas. The Hunt: Men’s Ministry

NNRC meeting

Second Tuesday, 6 p.m. — The Northern Nevada Recreation Coalition is a non-profit group that came together to improve the outdoor recreation in our area with cleanup, restoration and trails construction on the public lands in this area. We meet the second Tuesday of the month at 6 p.m. at Sids Restaurant. Come to one of our meetings and see what we are about.



Women in Mining

Humboldt County Composite Squadron of the U.S. Civil Air Patrol

White Sage Theatre group meets

Rotary Club of Winnemucca

Each Wednesday, Noon — Rotary brings together community leaders from all continents, cultures, and occupations to share their ideas for making the world a better place. Rotary members are tackling some of the world’s most pressing problems — from local initiatives like literacy and feeding the hungry to global efforts like eradicating polio. It all begins at the weekly club meeting, where members catch up with friends, hear what’s happening in their community, and organize club activities and service projects. Diabetes Support Group

First Wednesday, 5:30 p.m. – Do you live with diabetes? Are you at risk for being diagnosed with diabetes? Are you a caretaker of someone with diabetes, or would you like to learn more about how to prevent this disease? Please join us from 5:30 - 6:30 p.m. the first Wednesday of each month in Humboldt General Hospital’s Sonoma Conference Room as we focus on the challenges and successes of living with diabetes. Facilitated by HGH Wellness Coordinator Louis Mendiola and HGH Director of Nutrition and Dietary Services Tiffani Nalivka. All ages are welcome; there is no charge to attend. Patriots of the Humboldt County Shooting Park

First Wednesday, 6 p.m. — Patriots of the Humboldt County Shooting Park will be holding monthly meetings at the Humboldt County Shooting Park Education Building located at 7930 2nd Amendment Road via Winnemucca Mountain Road.



Ministerial Association meeting

First Wednesday, 5 p.m. — The Winnemucca Ministerial Association meets at the Methodist Church, 138 W. Winnemucca Blvd. in the meeting room. Public and soup kitchen volunteers are welcome. For more information call 625-2223.





Alzheimer’s Support Group

Second Wednesday, Noon — The Alzheimer’s Support Group meets in the Sara Winnemucca Room of Humboldt General Hospital. Refreshments are provided by the hospital. The group is sponsored by the Humboldt Volunteer Hospice and is facilitated by Gini Cunningham. Caregivers of all types and Alzheimer’s victims are welcome to join our discussion and benefit from support. Call 304-2899 with any questions.



Lions Club

Second and Fourth Wednesdays, 7 p.m. — Winnemucca Lions Club meets the second and fourth Wednesday at Winners Casino in the meeting room downstairs. Our service club has been around for 85 years doing good deeds, and having fun! Everyone is welcome to join, just drop by, and see if you too want to be part of our pride!



Winnemucca Regional Racing Association

Century Club

Second Wednesday, 7:30 p.m. — The Winnemucca Century Club (Lowry boosters) meet in the meeting room at Spare Time Bowling Center. Anyone interested is encouraged to attend.

Bariatric Support Group

Fourth Wednesday, 6 – 7 p.m. — Humboldt General Hospital hosts a support group designed to help both pre-op and post-op gastric bypass and lap-band patients. The Bariatric Support Group meets in the Sonoma conference room at Humboldt General Hospital, and is facilitated by Lori Billows. Those considering bariatric surgery as well as those who have undergone the procedure should attend.
