Daniel "Dan" Klassen

Daniel “Dan” Klassen, 31, of Winnemucca, NV, passed away on March 18th, 2025, surrounded by family.
Daniel was born on May 15th, 1993, in Reno, NV, to Shelley Bare and James Klassen. He graduated from Albert M. Lowry High School in 2012.
On his 21st birthday, Daniel began pursuing his lifelong passion for law enforcement by accepting a position with the Winnemucca Police Department, where he served the community for 10 years.
He enjoyed spending his free time with family and friends and had a love for fast cars.
Daniel is survived by his parents, Shelley (Shaun) Bare and James (Diane) Klassen; his brothers, Jake (Courtney) Klassen and Lucas (Sylvie) Klassen; step-siblings, Cody (Kota) Vess, Hailey (Corbin) Vess, Garrett Vess; his nieces, Brooke and Sloane Klassen and nephew, Maverick Furnare.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Harry and Linda Switzer, and Mary Klassen.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 25th, at St. Paul’s Catholic Church.
The rosary will be recited at 1:30 PM, followed by Mass at 2:00 PM. A graveside service will take place at the Winnemucca Cemetery, with a reception to follow.
Daniel’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and the community he served.
