It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Brother, Uncle, and Friend, Floyd R. Capell, who was called home on February 26, 2025, at the age of 70.
Floyd was born to Charles Zeb and Mearl Ethel Mowers Capell on September 13, 1954, and was the 6th of 10 children.
Floyd graduated from Grace High School in 1972. Later in his career, he made the decision to move to Winnemucca, Nevada, over 30 years ago, where he lived, worked and retired. A skilled and dedicated mechanic, Floyd earned a reputation for his ability to fix nearly anything that came his way.
His expertise and commitment to his craft led him to retire from a fulfilling career working as a mechanic in the mines of Nevada.
Floyd’s family and friends will always remember him for his story telling, strong work ethic, and the deep love he had for his loved ones. He is survived by his siblings Abe Capell, Wanda Hirschi, Nita Harwood, Arthur Capell, Lewis Capell, and Edith Brunson, as well as numerous nieces and nephews who adored him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Thomas Capell, his sisters Ruby Smith and Rhoda Hopkins.
Floyd’s knack for talking with anyone, sharing his stories, and passing on what he knew will be missed by all who knew him.
