Beloved wife, mother, artist, and mentor
Lynanne Snediker Herrera, age 62, passed away peacefully on May 29, 2025, in Winnemucca, Nevada.
Her life was a beautiful reflection of love, creativity, faith, and unwavering devotion to her family and community.
Lynanne was born on August 9, 1963, in Jericho, New York, to Graham and Joan Snediker.
She is survived by her brother, Glenn Snediker of Mesa, Arizona.
Lynanne earned an Associate of Applied Science degree in Advertising Art & Design with a minor in Drafting at Farmingdale State College, New York in 1982.
She began her career as a Computer Aided Draftsman with Sierra Pacific Power, where she worked for five years.
After the birth of her son, Torrey, she chose to stay home to raise him and support her husband, Ignacio “Nash” Herrera.
Together, she and Nash welcomed many new families into the area by developing properties along the Grass Valley corridor.
In a lasting tribute to the family, many of the streets were named after their children, weaving their legacy into the fabric of the community.
One of her proudest personal achievements was drawing up the architectural plans for their forever home, a project that began in 2009 and was completed in 2012.
Never one to stop growing, Lynanne earned her Bachelors of Science in Information Technology from Colorado Technical University in September 2019, graduating cum laude.
Her dedication to learning was as remarkable as her talent.
Lynanne was a gifted artist whose paintings grace the walls of her family’s home.
She passed her love of art to her son and grandchildren.
She was also an avid collector of old paintings, coins, stamps, and antiques — drawn to the beauty and stories behind each item.
Lynanne was a devoted member of Zion Lutheran Church, volunteering countless hours to support the ministry and its mission.
She also served as a committed Scout leader for her son’s Boy Scout Pack 23 Den 2, leading numerous outdoor activities and mentoring scouts as they earned merit badges — proudly helping some of them reach the rank of Eagles Scout.
She is survived by her loving husband, Ignacio “Nash” Herrera; her son, Torrey (Cheyanne); and her stepdaughters: Antoinette (AI) Anderson, Stephenie (John) Pomponio, Celeste (Josh) Gregorio, and Evette Herrera. Lynanne also leaves behind 14 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
In addition, she is lovingly remembered by her “Scout sons” - Freddie, Lane, Jack, Brady, Carlos, and Jesse each inspired by her grace, creativity, and love.
Lynanne was preceded in death by her parents, Graham and Joan Snediker, and her cousin, Helen Kane.
Funeral arrangements will be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to LaRena’s Race, P.O. Box 435, McDermitt, NV 89421, in honor of Lynanne’s memory and strength.
Her presence was a blessing, and her legacy lives on in the lives she enriched and the community she helped.
