Long time Nevada native, Inez Bria Lituania, age 106, passed away peacefully May 30, 2025.
Inez was born September 12, 1918, in Fallon, NV, to Michael Bria and Maria Getto Bria, both immigrants from northern Italy. Inez learned early in her life how to be a hard worker.
As a child growing up in Fallon, she and her brother Fremont milked cows by hand every morning before going to school and every evening when they got home.
Inez married the love of her life Aurelio Lituania in 1937.
Together they worked on the family farm for many years and lived the rest of their lives in Reno, NV.
They were married nearly 60 years, until Aurelio’s death in 1997. As a farmer’s wife she continued working hard to help support the family.
She gardened, canned fruits and vegetables, raised and butchered animals for food, sewed all the clothes for the family, cooked for the farmhands, chopped wood for the stove she cooked on, ran all the errands and kept the financial books for the farm, plus raised two children.
After retiring from farming and moving to the Smithridge community in Reno (1964), Inez went to work for a fabric store called House of Fabrics for 12 years.
She enjoyed interacting with her coworkers, serving the customers, and working with the fabric. Inez attended school in both Sparks and Fallon, NV.
She was amazingly talented. She could sew anything by hand or with a machine, she could knit, she crocheted countless Afghan blankets for friends and family, she was a terrific cook, and an unbelievable gardener.
She had the uncanny ability to transplant a plant or tree and have it thrive in the new location.
She loved being outdoors and working in her yard throughout her later years.
Inez was preceded in her passing by several members of her loving family: her husband Aurelio, her brothers Fremont Bria (wife Lydia), Rudy Bria (wife Beverly), sister Lucy Dupont (husband Jack), sister-in-law Gemma Ferrera (husband Cesare), and two nieces Jeannie Dupont and Andreinna Casagrande.
She leaves behind an incredible list of direct descendants, all who love her very much, including: two children, Andrew Lituania (wife Jeanne) and Rosemary Trelease (husband Richard); five grandchildren, Heidi Trelease, Andrew Trelease (wife Eaugene), Tammy Gabica (husband Frank), Lynn Mandeville (husband Wylie) and Kori Lituania (wife Sarah); nine great grandchildren, Aurelia Peterson (husband Evan Higgs), Annaleise and Andrew Gabica, Drake, Deagan, Graysen and Braedyn Mandeville, Jaylen Hinkle (wife Alyssa), Dominique Turner (husband Drew); five great, great grandchildren, Oakley, Sloan, and Emery Turner, and Myles and Mack Hinkle; and seven nieces and nephews Bruno Ferrera, Nannette Whiting, Myriam Pennington, Vivian Bria, Gary Bria (wife Shirley), Dana Bria (wife Debbie), and Janice Bria.
Family always came first for Inez. She was a mother to all. She lived by the Golden Rule and never faltered.
She aged but never got old. She always kept up with the times, and never once thought or said there was something she couldn’t do.
At 106 she was incredibly still living in her house playing board games with friends and family, playing games on her iPad, texting her family, reading the newspaper, and always learning.
She was a very smart, strong, independent woman far ahead of her times. What a blessing and inspiration this wonderful woman was to all who knew her or knew about her.
She is now resting peacefully with her family at Mountain View Cemetery, next to her soulmate Aurelio.
