Roylene Carol Warnock Burson, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and cherished member of her community, passed away peacefully on February 16, 2025, surrounded by her family.
Born on October 26, 1945, in Quincy, California, she was the daughter of Lorella Betty Dona Schwindt and Roy Charles Warnock, both of whom preceded her in death.
She was also the cherished sister of Lee Stephens and Rex Stephens, who both preceded her in death.
Roylene married the love of her life, Robert Pilon Burson, on August 21, 1965.
Together, they had two children: Robert Pilon Burson Jr., born on March 12, 1966, who passed away a day later, and Cynthia Denise Burson, born on December 6, 1970.
In September 1981, Roylene and her family moved to Winnemucca, Nevada, where they continued to grow in quiet strength and deep faith. Roylene worked for seventeen years at Valley Church, where her presence was felt by all who knew her.
She was the heart of the church, dedicating her time, love, and energy to serving others with a joyful spirit and a servant’s heart.
Roylene’s pride and joy was her grandson, Robert Kyle Short, born on January 24, 1994, lovingly named in honor of his late Uncle Bobby Jr.
Roylene is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Pilon Burson, her infant son, Robert Jr., and her brothers Lee Stephens and Rex Stephens, as well as her parents, Lorella Betty Dona Schwindt and Roy Charles Warnock.
She is survived by children Charles and Cynthia Vaughan,grandchildren Robert and Sarah Short, great grandchildren Brayton,Jaxxon, Miss Juliette,Bobbi Jo,Matilda & Miss Margaret!
A Celebration of Life for Roylene Carol Warnock Burson and Robert Pilon Burson will be held on May 27, 2025, at 5:30 pm at Valley Church.
This day will honor both their memories and the lasting impact they made on the lives of all who knew them.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Roylene’s name to Valley Church, where her spirit and love for the community will continue to inspire for generations to come.
