Billie Mac Yielding

October 31, 1946 - June 18, 2025

Billie Mac Yielding passed away in his home in Winnemucca, Nevada on June 18, 2025 at the age of 78.
He was born on October 31, 1946 in Vina, Alabama to his parents Alice (Reid) Chamedies and Franklin Gaither Yielding.
He was raised with his siblings, Nathan Ray Yielding, Diana Lee Scafire, Cindee Wagner, Andrea Mickelson and Chuck O’Bear.
He moved from Alabama to Michigan and then to California, where he graduated from Montgomery High School in Santa Rosa, and attended the College of Marin.
He was married to Marge Bell from 1967-1975. They had remained great friends until Marge’s passing in 2022.
He married Yolanda Yielding in 1988, and they have enjoyed life together until Bill’s last day.
Bill and Yolanda spent their last 40 years together in Winnemucca, where Bill enjoyed his career in the grocery business, retiring as a produce manager at Raley’s.
Bill served in the military for the National Guard and was a volunteer EMT and firefighter.
He was also an elder at the Valley Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, sailing, photography, riding his tractor, scuba diving, working on his property, stock car racing and spending time with his family.
He had a playful sense of humor, and always left everyone feeling appreciated and loved.
Bill is survived by his wife Yolanda Yielding, his children: Heather Reid (Meadow Vista, CA), Laurel Ladouceur (Sacramento, CA) and Vince Quintana (Ogden, UT), his grandchildren: Alesha Reid (Martinez, CA), Nathan Lagasse (Colorado Springs, CO), Alana Ladouceur (Sacramento, CA), Lucy Ladouceur (Sacramento, CA), Vinny Quintana (Thatcher, AZ), Sarah Quintana (Thatcher, AZ) and Brittany Quintana (Ogden, UT), his great-grandchildren: Kevin Schoenstein (Martinez, CA), Winter Rose Quintana (Ogden, UT), Alani R. Quintana (Ogden, UT), Nevaeh Quintana (Thatcher, AZ), and Gabriella L. Chavers (Thatcher, AZ).
He is preceded by his parents, Alice (Reid) Chamedies and Franklin Gaither Yielding, his siblings: Nathan Ray Yielding, Chuck O’Bear, Diana Lee Scafire, Cindee Wagner and Andrea Mickelson, and his son, Joey Quintana.

A service will be held for Bill on July 26, 2025 at Valley Baptist Church (4150 W. Thomas Canyon Rd. Winnemucca, Nevada) followed by a celebration of his life.
