It is with great sorrow that we share the passing of our beloved mother, Ida Leola (Quilici) Cochran.
She passed away on October 14, 2024 in Reno, Nevada. She was 94 years old.
Ida was born in Lovelock Nevada on February 17, 1930 to her parents Enrico and Rose Quilici.
She grew up in small railroad communities throughout Northern Nevada as her father was a section foreman for the Southern Pacific Railroad.
One of her fondest memories was riding on the train to visit family and friends.
She attended school in Carlin and Elko Nevada and especially enjoyed high school where she had many friends and participated as a majorette with the school band.
She was musically talented as a child playing the piano and accordion and received a certificate of completion from the Oxford School of Piano Playing in New York.
Her father was especially proud and asked her to play piano for gatherings with neighbors and friends.
After graduating from high school her family relocated to Winnemucca Nevada.
Ida was a homemaker who dedicated her life to raising her four children.
She had a passion for baking and was known to be the best around for her homemade goodies and desserts.
She also loved to sew, crochet, craft and garden.
Later in life for many years, she worked for an accounting firm in Reno as a file clerk before retiring to spend time with her husband and beloved dogs.
She is preceded in death by her spouse Dale (Moe) Cochran, parents Enrico and Rose Quilici and her two brothers John and Marcello (Babe) Quilici.
She is survived by her four children, Cathy Carter (Dale), David Toland (Lisa), Linda Kasper (Mike), Phillip Simpson (Sue) and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She loved them all very much. We miss her beautiful smile, great personality and loving spirit.
She will forever be with us in our hearts. A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
