Nell Elverta Farnham Locke

Nell Elverta Farnham Locke. Born in Lovelock Nevada, January 31, 1942- passed on February 11, 2025. She is Survived by The Love of her life John Locke, her son Evan Locke and Daughter Tracy Cuilty. She has 5 grand children Taylor, Owen, Carolyn, Kevin and Jacklynn. 1 Great grandson Benson. Nell and John had retired in Roseburg Oregon with all their children and grandchildren over the last 20 years living on their farm. Nell lived an incredible life. From growing up as a child at Big Creek Ranch in Denio, NV, and graduating high school in Lovelock. Her first 20 years were filled with the hardships and joy of the Nevada country. She married John Locke after high school and this led her to Los Angelos California as her husband went to study at Children’s Hospital. Ida Leola Quilici Cochran

It is with great sorrow that we share the passing of our beloved mother, Ida Leola (Quilici) Cochran. She passed away on October 14, 2024 in Reno, Nevada. She was 94 years old. Ida was born in Lovelock Nevada on February 17, 1930 to her parents Enrico and Rose Quilici. She grew up in small railroad communities throughout Northern Nevada as her father was a section foreman for the Southern Pacific Railroad. One of her fondest memories was riding on the train to visit family and friends. She attended school in Carlin and Elko Nevada and especially enjoyed high school where she had many friends and participated as a majorette with the school band. She was musically talented as a child playing the piano and accordion and received a certificate of completion from the Oxford School of Piano Playing in New York. Virgil Larios

Virgil Larios, 84, of Winnemucca, Nevada passed away with loved ones by his side, on January 31, 2025 after an untreatable pancreatic cancer diagosis10.5 months prior to his passing. He was born in Twin Falls, Idaho on October 25, 1940. Virgil and his sister Sandy, and their parents Fred and Dorothy Larios lived/worked on Larios family ranches in Northern Elko County, the Jones Ranch, Anderson Ranch and Diamond A Ranch. They also lived several years in Jarbidge, Nevada. Virgil and Sandy attended school in Jarbidge and when they were living on the ranches, they attended school in Rowland, traveling by horseback to and from school, winters and all. On occasion they would encounter mountain lions, but luckily their horses were very trustworthy and solid guardians and nothing bad ever happened on those long rides to and from Rowland. Patricia Rowe

Lovelock sadly lost a pillar on Thursday, January 22, 2025 when Mrs. Patricia Rowe (Gigi), also lovingly known as Mrs. Rowe to the thousands of kids she has impacted over the years, passed away at home surrounded by her family. Pat was born on February 2, 1941 to Buster and Merle Hoysted in Elko, Nevada, and was the fourth descendant of George Lovelock. And did she ever take that role seriously through her undying devotion to making Lovelock a better place to live and raise kids. Her contributions include a life passion as a first-grade teacher for more than 43 years, swim team coach for over 40 years, the co-creator of Lovelock Frontier Days, Lovelock City Councilwoman, a 20-year stint as Fair and Recreation Director, development of the Santa for Seniors, and so much more. The list of her accomplishments are many, but those she cherished most were being named …

Kay Jeanee Billingsley

On Saturday, January 25, 2025, Kay Jeanee Billingsley passed peacefully with her three children by her side at the age of 89. Kay was born in Twitty, Texas in 1935, she lived there a short time before moving to Alturas, California where she met the love of her life, Kenneth James “Diamond” Billingsley. They wed and began a life together that lasted for 64 years. While Jim was serving time in the military, he was stationed in Baumholder, Germany. With the insistence of her father, she went to live in Germany where their first son, James Lee Billingsley was born. Eleven months later the new family was headed back across the pond on a military ship to the U.S. and their beloved Modoc County. The next nine years were spent in Alturas where their family was extended with their second son, Timothy Cole and daughter, Karen Jeanee. Growing up, Kay …

Carl Edward O-Dell

Carl Edward O’Dell passed away on January 28, 2025, in Winnemucca, Nevada. He was born on December 6, 1940, in Ely, Nevada to Carl Edward O’Dell Sr and Emma Irene O’Dell. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and served one tour of duty. He earned a two-year degree as a diesel mechanic. He worked at Barrick Mine and Crane Services in Elko, Nevada. He moved to Winnemucca in 1993 and worked at Newmont until he retired. Carl married Janell Denny on April 20, 1996. He had two of his own children, Vance and Valerie and one stepchild, Gabrielle. He loved exploring the outdoors, driving off road anywhere and camping and fishing. He especially loved fixing anything that had an engine or a motor. Carl was retired for 2 years before he went back to work. He worked for several more years for Big G Construction. …

Martin Robert Cramer

Martin ( Marty) was born to Robert & Eunice Cramer January 8, 1950 in Missoula, Montana. Marty’s early education took place in several towns including Montana, Idaho and Alaska where his father held posts as teacher and superintendent of schools. This might have led to his making friends easily wherever he lived. He graduated high school in Sandpoint Idaho, but the Class of Ronan was where he was most at home, he then attended the University of Idaho. Marty worked for the Forest Service for many years, later becoming a Realtor and a founding member of MAREX. His real estate career spanned several states as well as Mexico and Fiji. He retired in 2007, and moved back to Winnemuccca. He was active with the Humboldt Hospital Auxiliary and spent many hours volunteering at the Poke N’ Peek. Barbara Jean Dugan

12-23-1932 to 1-11-2025 Barbara was born and raised in Miller, SD to Lester and Eleanor Gaudig. She married Kenneth Dugan on May 23, 1955. They started life together traveling the mid-west custom combining. Eventually they ended up in McClusky, ND raising their 3 children. They ran a construction company, a small sawmill business, and operated a 40-acre farm. Barbara and Kenny moved to Crescent Valley, NV in July 1978. Barbara became active in the Volunteer Fire Dept, EMT Ambulance, and Search & Rescue. She was on the ambulance for 44 years and only retiring in 2023. She help start the Crescent Valley historical society, and was a member of various boards in town: the Crescent Valley Town Advisory, Senior Center, Firewise, Golden oldies, and the Emergency Fund committee. She is preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Dugan, sisters Betty Waters of Miller, SD, Verna Westby of Binford, ND. She …

Carla Ann (Nesvold) Aitken

Carla Ann (Nesvold) Aitken passed away on January 22, 2025, in Winnemucca, Nevada. She was born on December 23, 1949, to Tom and Alice Nesvold in Staten Island, New York. She lived most of her life in Winnemucca, Nevada. She worked at C.B. Brown’s True Value for decades and loved her job and the people in the community. She attended the Methodist Church. She had three children of her own, Jesse Crenshaw, Hallie Crenshaw and Bob Crenshaw and many stepchildren: Brian Aitken, Aaron Aitken, Keith Aitken, Johnny Rice and Paul Rice. She is survived by her children and stepchildren and many other family members who loved her so much. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband. The family would like to extend their love to Angala Alvarez for all of her care over the years.
